Geothermal System - No Heating

If your geothermal heating system is not providing warmth, follow these troubleshooting steps to identify and resolve the issue before calling for professional service.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  • Check the Thermostat: Ensure the system switch is set to HEAT or AUTO, and the temperature is set higher than the current room temperature.
  • Increase the Temperature: Try raising the thermostat to its highest setting to see if the system activates.
  • Inspect Airflow: If the air coming from the vents is weak, check the air filter. A clogged filter can restrict airflow and reduce efficiency.
  • Ensure Registers Are Open: Verify that all air vents and registers are open and unobstructed to allow proper airflow.
  • Check the Power Supply: Make sure the power disconnect switch for both the indoor and outdoor units is turned on.
  • Inspect Circuit Breakers: Check the electrical panel for any tripped breakers related to the geothermal system and reset them if needed.
